North Carolina really is a state that has it all--mountains to the left, beaches to the right, but the middle of the state has some wonderful spots, as well. Just before the holidays, I was fortunate enough to spend a fantastic weekend at one of my home state's most beautiful resorts.
About 15 minutes from Chapel Hill and 45 minutes from Raleigh, The Fearrington House Inn has a pastoral setting and is just the place to recharge for a weekend. A Relais and Chateaux property, The Fearrington boasts 32 individually designed guest rooms with the finest linens and furnishings. The Inn is divided into cottages with rooms upstairs and downstairs. I stayed in a Deluxe Room, which is one step above the Standard Room and includes a sitting area in the entry. If you're staying for longer or part of a special event, two larger suite options are also available.

In addition to luxurious accommodations, The Fearrington is equally known for superb dining at the Fearrington House Restaurant. The restaurant boasts Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond status and prides itself on partnerships with local farms crafting fresh, inspired dishes for guests. I had the pleasure of dining from the Chef's tasting menu--a 3-hour long event, the food and experience was out of this world.
The Fearrington is the perfect place to escape for a weekend for an anniversary, time away or to celebrate a special event. The resort has an assortment of unique venues for smaller weddings to milestone soirees. It truly is a village, complete with specialty shops to mill around in, a full-service day spa and a handful of casual dining spots.
