Activity Abounds in Punta Mita

Set alongside the deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean nestled next to the bordering mountains, it’s apparent you’re in for a treat visiting Punta Mita, Mexico. Accessible by the well-connected airport in Puerto Vallarta, the Four Seasons Punta Mita is a 45-minute car transfer from the airport. Winding through a variety of Mexican towns and the beautiful mountainside, the gates of the exclusive enclave at Punta Mita provide security and a simple check-in for guests.

Punta Mita, located on the Riviera Nayarit, is a privately-owned residential community surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides, providing various second homes, two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf courses and anchored by the Four Seasons and St. Regis properties. This area of Mexico is ideal for those who enjoy surfing, sport fishing, snorkeling, diving and seasonal whale watching.

In typical Four Seasons’ fashion, arriving on property is like a welcome home by attentive staff whisking your luggage away and providing a freshly-made tequila punch. The property takes advantage of its mild year-round climate with an open-air lobby and multiple walking paths throughout the property. The Four Seasons sprawls across two swimmable beaches with snorkeling and private charters available right from the sand. Accommodations are available for any kind of traveler with traditional rooms and suites with fresh-air verandas to villas and residences eagerly awaiting families and larger groups traveling together. I think the Four Seasons is ideal for families and extended families given all the activity options available at your fingertips.

The Four Seasons has multiple dining options with outdoor seating. My clients will enjoy daily, complimentary al fresco breakfast at Dos Catrinas and I recommend dinner one evening at Bahia taking advantage of the fresh catch from earlier in the day. In the middle of the property sits an alluring infinity pool with the most spectacular sunset views each evening. Kids will enjoy the lazy river and adults can appreciate the timing of one margarita per float around the “river”. For more privacy, grown-ups can also enjoy the large adult-only pool with service located close to the full-service spa and massive gym.

Book with me for the following Four Seasons Preferred Partners amenities: Daily full American breakfast for two, food and beverage credit of $100, upgrade upon arrival based on availability, complimentary WiFi.

During my time in Punta Mita, I also had the pleasure of visiting the St. Regis. Located across the peninsula, the St. Regis boasts a swoon-worthy palm-tree lined entrance leading directly to the Pacific Ocean. The St. Regis consists of rooms and suites decorated in authentic Mexican casita styling with tiled floors, massive bathtubs and the option for outdoor showers. With several pools to choose from, adults and families won’t have any trouble finding the perfect fit or jumping from pool to pool! I especially loved the toes in the sand dining option beachside at Mita Mary Boat Bar and Bistro.

Book with me to enjoy Ritz Carlton STARS amenities: Daily full American breakfast for two, $100 hotel credit and complimentary bonfire with s'mores or a practice at the driving range for one.

MEGAN'S MUST'S: PUNTA MITA

Daytrip to Sayulita - Just a 30-minute drive along the mountainous coastline, the surfing village of Sayulita welcomes daytrippers from neighboring resorts. The strong surf allures top surfers, otherwise, visitors can wander through the artisans lining the streets for authentic souvenir shopping. I recommend venturing down the less crowded alleys and streets for better shopping and dining finds!

Sea Turtle Release - I highly recommend taking part in the baby sea turtle release the Four Seasons arranges each evening at sunset. Rooting for these little hatchlings as they scurry their way to the water is unforgettable.

Dining at Punta de Mita Village - Located steps outside of the gates of Punta Mita, Punta de Mita village is a quaint strip of restaurants and shops. I recommend one of the waterfront restaurants for dining "toes in the sand" at sunset.

Golf the "Tail of the Whale" - One of two Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses in Punta Mita, golf enthusiasts will want to try their hand at the world's only natural island-green.he world’s only natural island green

Snorkel Trip to Marietas Island - Charter a boat for an unforgettable snorkeling trip at Marietas Island and end with a picnic at the "hidden beach".
